training needs analysis

At Changescape, we have over 100 man-years of experience available in the design and application of Training Needs Analysis.  Our consultants will ensure that Change Management Services from Changescape will help you to reduce the time of change and negative impact that change can have on your workforce by using our TNA methodology.

Our methodology commences with a training initiation study where we agree objectives, establish the underlying business rational for the training intervention and identify all the training and non-training components needed within the programme.  This scoping exercise is key to the success of the subsequent stages.

Next we need to define job-role competencies to identify all the key skills required in each job role agreed in stage one as within the scope of the Training Needs Analysis.  In the event that you have existing and up-to-date job-role competencies in place, then we will use those.  Alternatively we can either tune any out of date competencies that you or one of our consultants can work with you to establish them from a standing start.

Once the full complement of job-role competencies is in place, we can commence a comprehensive data collection exercise from those jobholders identified during the Initiation stage as in-scope.  This can be done through one of a number of ways including personal or team interviews, questionnaires or even using electronic means.  At this stage, we would strongly recommend the capture of personal learning preferences alongside the investigation into individual competencies so that personal development plans are complete.

Using the job-role competency profiles and the data gathered in the Employee Research stage, we can accurately identify the skills gap for each jobholder identified in stage one as in-scope and generate personalised training plans that are not only linked to the business performance of each individual but also reflect how they best learn.

Finally, this information is used to form the basis of training programme design and course development.  It is also used to form the basis of measurement systems so that pre and post training snapshots can be taken and impact on your business assessed.

At each key stage, client reviews ensure you remain in control of time, cost and quality.
